Hipster Look

Jean Vest; DIY Jacket
Pink Shirt; Supporting the Canadian Architects t-shirt so they can go to Italy to compete
Hey everyone1 I wore this combination out with friends last night, I paired it up with leggings, my flamboyant toms and these really cool earrings I got while walking around the exchange district.
I tried looking for a good picture of my earrings but I had a tough time finding one, but they're the earrings I wore in my "Here's A Fictitious Character" look on lookbook.
I also bought the bright high-lighter pink shirt while walking around in the exchange. I bought this shirt because the money goes to supporting architects from all around Canada by sending them to Italy to try and win this architecture competition. It's a really nice shirt because; I love the bright pink, the material is super light and soft and breathable and plus, on the front it has a couple white triangles and then on the back it's got white triangles everywhere. The white triangles symbolize something to do with the competition.....Im not too sure, the lady kind of lost me...
But huh if you're all wondering how my night turned out; nothing out of the ordinary. It was a typical night out with friends, which was nice because I haven't left the house all week and have been watching movies by myself...
However, I hope you're all going out there and taking advantage of summer and havin a blast with your friends! xo (:

DIY Denim Vest !!!! (Bleached&Frayed)

So for a while now I've been seeing a ton of denim jackets with the acid wash patterns, and especially denim vests. Any kind of denim but with the frayed, "beat up" kind of look. So today I decided to take my denim jacket from American Eagle, which was too big and to turn it into a denim vest with a street style edge. To get this edge, i'm going to; bleach the jacket, cut the sleeves and fray where they used to be and to top it off, put studs on the shoulder and maybe the pockets. Now here's what my jacket looked like before(the picture made it lighter then it really is...);

Now first things to do for BLEACHING;
1) Get everything ready before you start the bleaching process (so before the fun begins). This means you should have a pail filled with water, half a litter of vinegar beside it (explain why later), a little bit of soap besides the pail too, your bleach in a spray bottle (preferably one with different spray functions) and gloves.
2) You're going to dunk your denim item in the water (make sure everything is wet) then wait a bit till it is damp
3) When it is damp (with your gloves on!), start spraying your bleach in any form of pattern you want. *But because denim is such a thick material, if you want to bleach a part of it to make it turn white or almost white, you may need to spray a lot of bleach on that one area.
4) And now you wait and keep a watchful eye on your denim. While you're waiting you can start pouring in the vinegar and soap into your pail.
5) When your denim item has reached its bleached perfection, then you dunk it in your water-mixture and mix! *You need to add in the vinegar because the vinegar will stop the bleach from eating through your clothes.
6) And then you start bleaching the back! Once you're done, just soak it into your water mixture and then rinse it in your washer (add some vinegar in that too just to be safe!)
To bleach my denim vest, it only took 1h altogether(not too bad!). Here's how the front of mine turned out!!
And heres the bottom! (Going to cut the sleeves off)
Im actually pretty happy with the pattern and the colours that turned out! And heres a photo without the sleeves;
You can't really tell in the photo but I frayed the edges of the arms and the collar. Here's the video I watched to learn how to fray them; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmkV6zb2N5s
And I really wanted to add studs onto the shoulders of my vest, like spikes, but I looked everywhere and I couldn't find any!! :'( </3 But if you guys find some, you should definitely add them to really completely the look! Here's what I paired my denim vest with;

And you should comment/message me either here or via my lookbook and show me how your denim project turns out! I'd love to see what y'all come up with (: Plus this look (on top) is on my lookbook o go check it out too!
cya, hope to hear from youzz! xoxo

One of Those Days

Do you ever have one of those days where you just don't know what to wear? And you look through your mess of a room to find just the perfect outfit for your day? One that'll work in the heat, that'll look good and that'll grab peoples attention? But you just can't find it?! I am having one of those god awful days today! Im going walking around today in the exchange district, which is full of super hip, chic, vintage-y and trendy people so I'm tryna find the perfect ensemble for it. Luckily for me, I know the cure for one of these days. All ya gotta do is look through all your old clothing and find something there! Because re-wearing your old clothing is like getting the jackpot. Your friends haven't seen it in a while so they all think it's new so you'll be getting compliments all day ;) So for today, I'm wearing my vintage find of a Dim Mac shirt with shiny leggins, and because I wanna stay comfortable, Im either wearing my Jeffery Campbells or just birkenstocks.

And another thing I'm going to try and do today is ; create a denim vest. What I'm going to be doing later is cutting off the sleeves of my denim jacket, bleaching the jacket on some spots to get that "acid wash" effect and then getting studs and gluing them on the shoulder. DYI denim vest, just the way I want it :) So i'lll show you guys photos of my creation after! ;) xoxo

Return to Civilization !

Im going out to supper with friends tonight, going out to Moxies so Im wearing my white tank top silk shirt from Aritzia.
I chose to tittle this look "Return to Civilization" because all week I've been out in the woods, at my cabin without internet or service. So my first day back in to the city, why no go out to supper and get all dressed up? Maybe catch a movie later and have some wine? Who knows :)
Im trying to post more photos of my shirt, which I paired up with black shiny leggings and my Jeffery Cambells mint persian slippers. If you wanna get a better look at my Jeffery Campbells, go check out my previous blog entry titled "Well Isn't That Just 'Peach'y". This look isn't on lookbook because I felt like it was too simple for lookbook but you can go check out my lb profile!

Anyways, that's all for now! Have a good one xoxo

Job Interview !

Im on my way to a group interview at Gap, and this is what I'm wearing to it;
Dress; Urban Outfitters
Blazer; Aritzia
Except I paired it with nude flats instead of sandals because I have ugly toes and I took away the belt to keep it simple. You can go check this look out on lookbook, it's one of my old looks so just click on the link to go hype it! (:
So my interview was decent, it was like one of those tests where you just don't know how you did but you just kind of feel neutral about it. It was a group interview, as I mentioned before, so it was me with 5 other people. There were 2 or 3 that were really nice, qualified and had charisma so one of them will probably get the job. And the other 2 were just like me; forgettable. But through and through, let's hope I got the job cause I need one! So wish me luck! xo (:

Visiting Family

Hey guys, Im going out of town for a couple days to go visit family so I will probably not be posting or updating my blog very much, but I decided to post what Im wearing on my long road trip to visit the family! Im wearing my white tank top with lace collar from Hollister, paired up with ym daisy highwaisted shorts from Forever 21 and nude sandals(look bellow);
Heres my top!
And here are my shorts! The reason I decided to wear this on my road trip is because the shorts are so comfy, and comfort is key when I'll be driving for more then 10 hours.... And also because it looks really cute together, very summer but also I could wear this out for supper when I get to the fams house (:
Anyway, talk to you all very soon! xo <3

Straight Up Cooked

Headband; American Apparel
Necklace; Claires
Shorts; American Apparel
Shoes; Rooster- Jeffery Campbell
I wore this outfit to the Winnipeg Folk Festival, which was pretty amazing! K'naan preformed and was pretty decent, but there was one band from Los Angeles playing like jazz with really upbeat sounds, it's hard to describe but it was so good and really hyped everyone up! It was definitely worth the 50$ day pass, everyone should come check it out!
Now back to the outfit; about my purse, i've worn it another looks but here's a better photo with the purse in it, which displays the purse wonderfully. And I decided to match all these retro accessories with my retro high waisted shorts because the Folk Festival is very hipster/hippie so you can really get in touch with your inner hippie and experiment with clothing, it's great! And I obviously had to pair them up with my favourite shoes (check out this blog entry to read my rant about how much I love my shoes!). Enjoy my fun and playful facial expression because I rarely do this ;)
Go check out my look on loobook, but it might not be on for loooonngg so go hype&comment&fan! And, tell your friends!
But I've had a long day, I'm all worn out so goodnight xo (:
